The Royal Photographic Society exists to educate members of the public by increasing their knowledge and understanding of Photography and in doing so to promote the highest standards of achievement in Photography in order to encourage public appreciation of Photography.
Do I need to be a professional photographer to join?
At The Royal Photographic Society, membership is open to all! Regardless of prior experience, knowledge or status. There are absolutely no qualifications required to join RPS, you simply need a passion and love for photography.
What can RPS offer me as an aspiring or professional photographer?
When you join, you become a member of a community of like-minded individuals who care deeply about photography – in fact, over 11,000 of them! Lots of people join to further their own craft and to embrace the challenge of working towards RPS’ internationally recognised Distinctions or Imaging Science Qualifications.
But, if that’s not for you, RPS still offers so much benefit to any photographer. With around 650 Society events each year, there’s plenty of opportunity to share knowledge, meet and learn from other photographers and to develop your photographic inters and skills.
What other benefits can I enjoy as a member?
As well as a monthly magazine, the opportunity to exhibit your work and free entry into photography exhibitions at The Royal Photographic Society in Bristol, you’ll also receive exclusive discounts and cover enhancements not available as standard from Glover & Howe!
We offer cover whether you’re working from home, in a studio or within specified territorial limits. Our policies can include Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and theft from unattended vehicles, as well as lots of other individual options.
